The Civil / Structural Engineer will work for our client, a leading civil engineering firm, established in 1999 and voted as one of the Top 25 Engineering firms by NJ Biz. This firm has steadily grown based on a solid reputation for providing quality service. The diverse staff includes a team of respected engineers and inspectors throughout NY and NJ. Efforts include some of the largest transportation projects in the New York Metropolitan area such as the Raising of the Bayonne Bridge, Tappan Zee Hudson River Crossing, NJ Turnpike Widening, and Fulton Street Transit Center.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Engineer of Construction for Ports, located at Port Newark, NJ, the Civil / Structural Engineers will be responsible for Civil / Structural Inspection and Project Management services associated with structural pile and concrete repairs. Occasionally, these inspectors will provide construction management services associated with civil infrastructure-based work.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience inspecting Civil structural construction work varied in size and complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Structural engineering.
- Minimum10 years of experience inspecting structural construction work, varied in size and complexity.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience inspecting civil construction work varied in size and complexity.
- Ability to pass a Federal Security background check.
- Valid driver's license REQUIRED.
- Night and weekend shifts may be required on an as-needed basis.
- Trained in Fall protection, permit required confined space OSHA regulations, and 30-hour OSHA construction safety training.
- Any associated Structural certifications.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly for writing daily narratives and reports.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
